- At QMU, a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the specialist areas of healthcare; drama and the creative industries; media, communication and sociology; and business, management and enterprise. From 2019, we will also offer courses in primary education and home economics teaching. They also have a number of postgraduate research courses and continuing professional development (CPD) courses which will be of interest to anyone who is wishing to update their current professional skills.
- QMU is part of the Scottish Drama Training Network which was set up by the Scottish Funding Council in 2010 to foster cohesion across stage and screen professional practice, education and training. Through the Network, QMU in partnership with Edinburgh Napier University delivers the BA (Hons) Acting for Stage and Screen.
- The School is the only institution in Scotland that is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations to deliver the postgraduate CIPR Diploma in Public Relations. The School’s Bachelor of Science (BSc) courses in psychology; MSc in Health Psychology are accredited by the British Psychological Society.

Queen Margaret University Students’ Union is a not-for-profit organisation led by students. The Students’ Union is a registered charity and works to ensure that students have the best university experience while studying at QMU. They offer advice and support, student representation, extra-curricular activities, volunteer opportunities and operate Maggie’s Bar & Café as a student centred social space.
The main purpose of The Students’ Union is to represent the students of Queen Margaret University. As soon as you matriculate you’re automatically a member of the Students’ Union, and can take part in all our activities.Sports & Societies are led by the elected Vice-President and range from high performance sports such as football, rugby and badminton, to popular activities like theatre, anime and dance. The opportunities that Sports & Societies can offer are endless.
The societies on offer at the Students’ Union give you the opportunity to meet like-minded people who have similar interests to you. Together you can dance, compete, sing, act, debate, create campaigns, volunteer, fundraise and so much more.

Situated in landscaped parkland, Student Village accommodates 800 students in a choice of standard or premium rooms. all of which are en-suite.
