Ireland is emerging as a benchmark for international education, with a remarkable 80% of international graduates securing employment within nine months of completing their studies. This impressive statistic highlights Ireland’s robust economy, vibrant job market, and commitment to providing a world-class educational experience for students from around the globe.

Employment rates amongst graduates are soaring, with up to 82% finding work within nine months of graduation, surpassing pre-Covid-19 levels. According to the most recent Graduate Outcomes Survey published last November by the Higher Education Authority, up to 82% had found work within nine months of graduation.

The survey is the second since the onset of Covid-19, and the first since a complete reopening of society and the labour market. Overall, 81.9% of graduates were in employment nine months after graduation – up from 75.9% for the Class of 2000 and 80.1% for the Class of 2018.

Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Simon Harris, said: “It is very positive to see a strong rebound in employment levels among this cohort following the Covid-19 pandemic. The report also highlights the importance higher education brings to graduates and wider society, in terms of health and well-being, active citizenship and societal outcomes and this should be widely recognised.”

Dr Alan Wall, CEO of the Higher Education Authority, said: “The report shows a strong labour market for recent graduates who are securing employment across the economy in professional occupations.”

Beyond the economic benefits, Ireland offers a unique and enriching experience for international students. The country’s reputation for high-quality education precedes it, with its universities consistently ranking among the best in the world. Ireland’s commitment to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment ensures that international students feel valued and empowered to achieve their academic goals.

Ireland’s remarkable achievement of 80% international graduate employment within nine months is a compelling indicator of its thriving international education scene. The country’s robust economy, strong education system, and commitment to diversity make it an attractive destination for students seeking a world-class education and promising career prospects. With its doors open to international talent, Ireland is poised to continue its journey as a global hub for education and innovation.
