The Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) exam is a crucial assessment for international medical graduates (IMGs) who wish to practice medicine in the United Kingdom.   • Clinical History Taking: IMGs are assessed on their ability to take a thorough and relevant patient history, including patient concerns, past medical History, and Social History.
  • Physical Examination: This section evaluates the ability to perform a systematic and focused physical examination, including inspection, palpation, percussion, and auscultation.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with patients, explaining diagnoses and treatment plans, and obtaining informed consent.
  • Clinical Skills: Performing various clinical procedures and skills, including suturing, venipuncture, and urinary catheterization.
  • Prescribing Skills: Safe and appropriate prescribing of medications, understanding dosages, indications, and contraindications.
  • Patient Safety: Knowledge of patient safety principles, including infection control, medication safety, and the prevention of medical errors.
