In a groundbreaking development, over 5,000 universities worldwide have announced their acceptance of Duolingo English Test (DET) scores for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions, signaling a significant leap forward in the recognition of this standardized test. DET is a recognised language proficiency assessment for undergraduate and post-graduate programmes of universities located across US, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, etc

The acceptance of DET scores by over 5,000 universities worldwide represents a significant milestone for the standardized test. Institutions in various countries and regions have acknowledged the credibility and reliability of DET in evaluating the academic proficiency of prospective students, leading to its widespread adoption in the admission process.

This expanded acceptance of DET scores offers students greater flexibility and opportunities for pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies. With an increasing number of universities recognizing DET as a valid assessment tool, students can now explore a broader range of educational institutions and programs, both domestically and internationally.

Since 2020, the number of programs recognizing DET has doubled, demonstrating a substantial shift towards a student-centric approach to admissions. Notably, 99% of programs that adopted DET before January 2021 continue to accept it, reinforcing the enduring commitment to reliability, accuracy, flexibility and student choice, an official statement said.

The acceptance of DET scores by over 5,000 universities worldwide marks a significant advancement in standardized testing and higher education accessibility. With this milestone, students are presented with expanded opportunities to pursue their academic aspirations across diverse institutions and programs, setting the stage for continued growth and recognition of DET in the global educational landscape.
