What is the Bologna agreement?

The Bologna Declaration or Bologna Agreement is the result of the meeting between the various European Ministers of Education in June 1999. This agreement is aimed at harmonizing the higher education of European countries. At present, around 45 European countries adhere to this agreement. The main objective of this agreement is to create an effective area of higher education within European countries. This agreement helps enhance the mobility of students as well as researchers, increasing the attractiveness of higher studies in Europe and facilitating acknowledgment of degrees and diplomas.
