University of Birmingham’s Opens Doors of £1 Million Scholarship Fund for Indian Students

Aspiring Indian students with dreams of studying at the prestigious University of Birmingham can now sigh relief. The renowned institution has unveiled a remarkable scholarship fund worth over £1 million, catered explicitly to talented students from India. This groundbreaking initiative aims to bridge financial barriers and provide exceptional academic opportunities for deserving students.

The University of Birmingham (UoB) today announced a series of scholarships for Indian students valued at more than £1 million. Through these scholarships, the University aims to support Indian students with illustrious academic and extracurricular records to study at the University.

 The 2024–25 academic year scholarships are available for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. These are categorized into merit-based and automatic awards for specific academic fields. The following fields are covered: Business, computer science, arts, law, environmental and physical sciences, geography, and earth and environmental sciences.

A Diverse Spectrum of Scholarships:

The £1 million scholarship fund encompasses diverse opportunities,

catering to various academic pursuits and postgraduate levels. Some of the key highlights include:

  • UG Outstanding Achievement Scholarships: 20 awards of £4,000 each, recognizing exceptional undergraduate performance.
  • PG India Chancellor Scholarship: 15 awards of £2,000 each, honouring postgraduate talent.
  • Global Masters Scholarships (Automatic): £2,000 scholarships awarded automatically to qualified international students.
  • DeepMind Scholarships for Computer Science: 3 groundbreaking awards of £52,565 each, supporting future tech leaders in this critical field.
  • GREAT Scholarships 2024: £10,000 fellowships for Indian students pursuing one-year postgraduate studies. 

Explaining the scholarships for Indian students, Professor Robin Mason, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International), University of Birmingham, said: “We are excited to offer these new scholarships for Indian students that will benefit them from the rich educational, social, and cultural experience that the University of Birmingham provides.

“These scholarships prove the importance that Indian students have in our global student community and our commitment to India on a strategic partnership. The University of Birmingham is a global civic university with a long, dynamic relationship with India. We look forward to welcoming the next batch of Indian students to our beautiful historic campus in Birmingham.”

 The applications for September 2024 are open for international students.
